They won't be this close together again until May 2013

You may have noticed two very bright stars near the moon that have seemed to switch orientation over the past couple nights. They're much brighter than other stars in sky

Jupiter (on top) and Venus are close to each other, it's called a planetary conjunction
and the waxing crescent moon

They won't be this close together again until May 2013

The moon is only 252,000 miles away, Venus is 94 million miles away. And Jupiter is around 540 million miles away.
Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system, and it's diameter is 40 times the moons
